Information Technology Director
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia seeks an individual with advanced training/experience in information technology or informatics to head its information technology unit. This position may be a faculty or staff position depending on the qualifications of the applicant. The IT Director reports directly to the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Responsibilities of the position are to: 1. Oversee planning and management of information technology in the College of Veterinary Medicine, including network and user support services, applications, development, internal and external web services, and clinical information systems. 2. Supervision of CVM computer support staff (15 staff members) and student computer laboratories. 3. Act as a college liaison to campus-level computer and information technology committees. 4. Consult with faculty, staff and students on issues of integration of technology into teaching, research and service functions. 5. Serve as an ex-officio member of the College Computer Committee. 6. Serve on the dean’s staff. 7. Identify and seek extramural support for information technology development in the college.
Familiarity with the Universal Veterinary Information System (UVIS) and previous managerial experience are additional desirable qualifications.

Muscle/Exercise and Health Molecular/Cellular Biologist
Applications are being accepted for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences (http://www.dbms.missouri.edu) with possible joint appointments in the Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, and Medical Pharmacology and Physiology in the School of Medicine, at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Requirements include MD, DVM and/or PhD degree. The successful candidate must have proven expertise in molecular biology technologies and demonstrate exceptional potential for the development of a vigorous, sustained research program. Potential for collaborative interactions with current faculty include programs in activity/inactivity research related to muscle, its adaptations with use, its loss of function with disuse, metabolic events required to support muscle function, the influence of muscle on metabolic processes and chronic disorders, and cardiovascular control in support of muscle. A broad range of research approaches are encouraged with expertise in gene regulation (employing modern molecular biology techniques), cell physiology, biochemistry, systems physiology, whole body responses, and patient management are available. The faculty member to be recruited for this position will fit into one of two groups of Muscle/Exercise and Health researchers: 1) Muscle Biology Group or 2) Muscle Metabolism and Health. Teaching responsibilities involve physiology or molecular biology related lectures to first year veterinary and graduate students. Cardiovascular Molecular/Cellular Biologist

Requirements include MD, DVM and/or PhD degree. The successful candidate must have proven expertise in molecular biology technologies and demonstrate exceptional potential for the development of a vigorous, sustained research program. Potential for collaborative interactions with current faculty include cardiac cell biology, vascular cell biology, exercise, microcirculation, neural cardiorespiratory control, vascular cell-matrix interactions, cardiac function and large mammal models of cardiovascular disease. Preference will be placed to those whose research utilizes state-of-the-art in vivo and in vitro molecular approaches to cardiovascular and/or exercise-related problems, although outstanding applicants in other related aspects of molecular/cellular biology are encouraged to apply.
